Robert Darden

ROBERT ALEX DARDEN, age 86, died on Thursday, December 10, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Janet June (Wolinski). Together they raised five wonderful and caring children. Robin Darden Thomas, Barbara Deering, William Darden, Susan Darden Kautz and Robert Jason Darden. Grandfather to Tracy, Devin, Cory and Kyle Thomas; Elizabeth, James III and Robert Deering; Kelly Devlin, Kimberly Henriques, Jillian and Madeline Darden; Matthew Spolar, Caleb, Janet and Tessa Kautz; Ricky Phend, Beck and Reina Darden and great-grandfather to Miles and Mallory Devlin; Davis and Riley Thomas; Riley, Mia and Grant Henriques and Colton Deering. Bob was predeceased by his parents Alex and Wanda Dardzinski and sisters Sophie Tomczak, Alexandria Rutgers and Irene Widlitz.

Bob graduated from East Tech High School, attended Ohio State University for two years and graduated from Case Institute of Technology in 1952. Bob and June were married on September 1,1952. He was active in the Euclid Jaycees and was a member of Acacia Country Club. They loved to travel and had many trips to Bermuda and the Caribbean Islands, as well as Mexico, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Kyoto Japan, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Thailand and Beijing, China. At age 84 he fulfilled his bucket list of skydiving. His entire career was in the construction industry. In 1976 Bob formed The Robert A. Darden Co. specializing in industrial and commercial construction, which he ran until retiring in 1996. Bob and June moved to Florida in 1997 and enjoyed many years of retirement until returning home to Ohio and family in 2013.

A memorial service will be held at Gesu Catholic Church, 2450 Miramar Blvd., University Hts. OH on Saturday, December 19^th at 11:00 a.m.  Family will receive friends immediately following at Dino’s Catering at Acacia, 26899 Cedar Road, Beachwood OH. The family requests no flowers.
