ROBERT CORBETT age 68, beloved husband for 44 years of Susan (nee Bronson); loving father of Bryan (wife Amy) Corbett; devoted grandfather of Ella Marie, Brayden James, Myla Grace, Claira Lynn and Caleb Jack; cherished son of the late James Phillip and Isabell (nee Reno); dearest brother-in-law of Gary Earl Bronson and the late Anne Shirley Redmond.
Robert was born on June 28, 1951 and died on March 3, 2020. He grew up in East Cleveland and at age 15 he and his family moved to Cleveland Heights, where he graduated from Cleveland Heights High School. Robert had a number of jobs and was an all-around handyman. He began by working for his father’s tool and die, then went on to work at a Marine store. Robert also worked in commercial diving in and around Lake Erie, where he helped lay the underwater communication lines between the islands and the mainland. He really enjoyed boating and water sports, and liked listening to oldies and Rock n’ Roll, especially Elvis Presley. Most of all, Robert loved his family and treasured the times when he could be together with his grandkids. He will be remembered for being loyal, reliable, kind and soft-spoken with a sense of humor. Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Robert to Medworks 1950 Richmond Rd., Lyndhurst, OH 44124. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Celebration of Life Service Monday, March 9, 2020 at 12 NOON at THE FUNERAL HOME. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Robert at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) MONDAY 11:30 AM–12 NOON.
