MAYOR ROBERT J. BOYLE age 88; former mayor and councilman of Richmond Hts; beloved husband for 56 years of Esther (nee Sapia); loving father of Timothy (wife Mary) and Susan Culligan; devoted grandfather of Robert S., Andrew and Colin Boyle, Ryan and Clare Culligan; dearest brother of Judy Waldman (husband Robert) and Leslie Fain (husband Charles); dear uncle. U.S. Marine Corp Veteran.
Robert was born on March 4, 1928 in Burlington, Vermont and passed away on July 2, 2016. He was a resident of Richmond Heights since 1962, formerly of East Cleveland and graduated from North Olmstead High School. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps at the end of World War II and was stationed in China. He came back home to finish schooling and earned a degree from Ashland University. Bob worked as a purchasing manager and government contracts manager for a number of manufacturing and engineering consulting firms. He was mayor and a councilman of Richmond Heights for 20 years.
In his retirement, Bob donated his time and passion to his church, St. Paschal Baylon in Highland Heights where he served as an usher, Eucharistic minister and President of the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Windemere Chapter. Robert loved gardening, golf and spending time with his family. He was a Cleveland fan and will be remembered as a giving, selfless and outgoing man. Bob was generous of his time, had a strong sense of duty and was a selfless leader. He had a great sense of humor and fought for what he believed in. Bob will be greatly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday July 7, 2016 at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church at 10:30. AM. Cremation following by DeJohn Crematory. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bob at THE CHURCH THURSDAY MORNING 9:30-10:30 AM. Arrangement by THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS.
