Robert "Bob" S. Bevis, age 68, passed away November 5, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on December 10, 1955, Bob was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Known for his sharp wit, a heart of gold, and a talent for making everyone around him smile, Bob could always be counted on for a joke-whether he was teasing about being "punished" with ice cream or baking the best bread you'd ever tasted. Bob made sure the food he prepared was a reflection of the generosity and warmth he shared with everyone.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Fran Bevis (nee Malinowski); his children, Tina (Brendan) McGee (nee Bevis) and Robert (Lisa) Bevis; and his cherished grandchildren, Liam, Declan, Connor, and Ophelia.
Bob's love for his grandchildren was immeasurable. As a grandfather, he was everything you could hope for: kind, playful, and endlessly devoted. Bob had a special way of making each of his grandchildren feel incredibly loved. He often said that being a grandparent was one of the greatest joys of his life-and anyone who saw him with his grandkids could see just how true that was. Bob's legacy will live on in the fond memories his grandchildren will carry with them forever.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert P. Bevis and Clara Bevis-Brinkman, and his stepfathers, Earl Kiefer and Richard Brinkman.
He is also survived by his siblings: Scot (Tracy), Bret (Titin), Susie (Bud) Ramkey (nee Bevis), and Jim. He was a proud uncle to 36 nieces and nephews, 26 great-nieces and nephews, and countless "honorary" family members who affectionately called him "Uncle Bob," even if they weren't technically related.
Bob was a 1974 graduate of North High School. His hardworking spirit carried him into adulthood, where he built a successful 40-plus-year career as an electrician with Chesterland Electric.
Bob had a passion for playing darts, and as an avid bowler Bob spent countless hours at the lanes. His sense of humor and infectious laugh were ever-present, and those who knew him will always remember his playful spirit.
A celebration of life gathering will be held to honor Bob's memory on December 8, 2024.
Bob's family and friends will forever remember his love, laughter, and the countless memories of his ability to light up a room-not just with his electrical skills, but with his warmth and humor.
