ROBERT F. ANDRE, aged 98 years, beloved husband for 64 years to the late Josephine M. (nee Kalamarz), dear father of Joseph John (wife Erin), Mark Steven (wife Barbara) and    R. Andrew (wife Susan), loving grandfather of Robert, Ryan, Matthew, Scott and Naomi, cherished brother of Irene Anderson, fond uncle and great-uncle.

Mr. Andre, a resident of South Euclid, passed away on Oct. 11, 2015 at his residence. He had been self-employed in the graphic arts since 1946. He was one of many pioneers in preparing prepress composition with carbon paper on manual typewriters. He participated in the advances of typesetting to its present computerized stage.

He enjoyed creating and producing his family Christmas cards for 63 years.

He graduated from Dyke School of Commerce in 1937 with a Business Administration Certificate.

Mr. Andre proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He served from 4 December of 1942 until 27 November 1945. He was an Armored Reconnaissance Platoon Leader with the Third Army in its campaign across Europe. He held the rank of First Lieutenant. For his meritorious service, he was awarded The Purple Heart, The Silver Star and The Bronze Star Medals.

Prayers of Christian Burial Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the funeral home at 3:00 PM. Burial will be held with Military Honors in Arlington National Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Robert at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) SATURDAY 2:00 PM UNTIL TIME OF SERVICE.
