Rita M. Vedmar

RITA M. VEDMAR (nee Carroscia) age 96, beloved wife of the late Louis “Rudy”; loving mother of Lois Percaciante (husband Frank), Debra Stincic and Laurie Vedmar; devoted grandmother of Jenny Rigo (husband Keith), Jacklyn Price (husband Andrew), Nicole Percaciante, Todd Stincic (Trisha Carlson), Erin Harmon (husband Matthew), Sarah Amirault (husband Jerry), Daniel Sawyer (April) and the late Frank Percaciante (wife Megan) and great-grandmother of Brianna, Rebecca, Mia, Madeline, Myles, twins Sophia and Francesca, Westyn, Brayden, Lincoln, Kayden and Maeve; cherished daughter of the late Michael and Mary (nee Minadeo) Carroscia; dearest sister of Joseph Carroscia (wife Carol) and the late Charles (wife Ann deceased), Ann Vidmar (husband John deceased) and Regina Rice; dear aunt and great-aunt of many. 

Rita was born on October 10, 1927 in Wickliffe, Ohio and graduated from Wickliffe High School in 1946, where she enjoyed performing in high school plays.  Working as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell kept her employed for many years.  Rita’s hobbies included cooking, gardening, playing golf and cheering on the Cleveland Indians.  Music was of special interest, which ranged from big band to the Rat Pack to polkas. Traveling brought great enjoyment, taking her to such places as Italy, Belgium, Myrtle Beach, Disney World and Las Vegas to play the slots. Rita belonged to the Willoughby Seniors Club, where she enjoyed many gambling bus trips.  Above all, she was devoted to her family and faith.  This giving and selfless soul passed away on May 18, 2024 and will be missed and lovingly remembered by those who knew her the best.

Friends and caretakers enjoyed her sense of humor.  The family would like to thank Danbury Senior Living of Mentor for their wonderful care and kindness to Rita and her family.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 29850 Euclid Avenue, Wickliffe, Ohio at 10AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Rita at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY 4-8PM.
