Rita Marie Mitchell

Rita went to Heaven on October 2, 2020. She was in the arms of her loving husband and daughter when she returned home. Her selfless, generous, caring heart is deeply missed by those who knew her. Rita was a strong Christian woman who always enjoyed Christian music. She was born in Garfield Heights, Ohio on September 28, 1957. She joins her parents, William Brenick and Dolores Brenick (Petro) in Heaven.

Memories of Rita are deeply cherished by her loved ones: her husband Ralph Mitchell of 29 years, daughter Allyson Mitchell, step-daughter Tiffany Waltos (Nick), step-son Joe Mitchell (Carrie), and step-grand children Bella and Gavin. One of six children, Rita is loved by so many: Her brothers, Chuck Brenick (Jackie), Jim Brenick, and John Brenick (Pat) and sisters Sue Calandra (Ami, deceased), and Margie Ballash. Beloved Aunt and Great Aunt of many.

Rita was a ‘75 graduate of Garfield Heights High School, and attended St. Monica School. She was part of the guitar group at St. Monica Catholic Church. From volunteering at her daughter’s school and Girl Scout Troop, to loving and caring for her pets, and working in the yard, Rita’s love was felt by many. The Mitchell Family has resided in Auburn Township for the past 12 years, where they are surrounded by loving neighbors and friends.

Rita was a generous woman that always gave her time and love freely. Her family describes her as the best Mom in the world, a wonderful, attentive, caring sister, and always the best caretaker for everyone. She was truly the glue that held everyone together.
