Rita M. Lavrich

RITA M. LAVRICH (nee Fink) age 92, beloved wife of the late Judge Frank G.; loving mother of Joanne, Lawrence (wife Christin), Mary Beth Thoren (husband Roger), and Michael (wife JoAnn); devoted grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of fifteen; cherished daughter of the late Frank and Cecelia (nee Schraufl); dearest sister of Joann Brassill, Marianne Walsh, Lois Belock and the late George, Howard, and Dolores Fink; treasured sister-in-law of Jeanne Maloney; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Rita was born on July 15, 1926 in Cleveland and passed away on January 22, 2019 in Chardon.  She has been a resident of Chardon for the past 53 years formerly of Cleveland.  Rita has been a member of St. Mary where she was the president of the woman’s guild.  She was involved with the Lake Erie Girl Scout Council.   Rita graduated High School from Notre Dame in 1944 and attended St. Alexis School of Nursing.  She worked as a registered nurse at Notre Dame School.  Rita taught cake decorating classes.  She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and girl scouts.  Rita was a multi-talented seamstress, crafter, and cook.  Her family, kids and grandkids gave her the most enjoyment in life.  She was the best mom and grandma ever, and for that she will be dearly missed.

Contributions may be made in memory of Rita to Birthright, Christ Child, and or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, January 26, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, at 10 AM at 401 North Street, Chardon, Ohio.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Rita at CHURCH from 9-10 AM.
