Rita Gund

RITA T. GUND, aged 88 years, beloved daughter of the late Joseph G. II and Adaline B. (nee Simak), cherished sister of Bernita Quinn Wiegand (husband Clifford) and Beatrice A. Gund, fond sister-in-law to the late Michael Gerard Quinn, devoted aunt to Bernita Kavulich (James), Elizabeth Opalich (William), Maureen Rawley (Michael), Eileen Sraj (Michael John – deceased) and Barbara Buzonas (Benjamin – deceased), treasured grand-aunt of 15 and great-grand-aunt of 9. Contributions in memory of Rita suggested to St. Clare Parish Endowment Fund, 5659 Mayfield Rd., Lyndhurst, OH 44124.

She was born on Oct. 12, 1928 in Cleveland Heights, and was a resident of Lyndhurst for 60+ years. She retired in 1989 from Texas Instruments, where she worked as a secretary and coordinator. She had been an active member of the St. Ann Parish Powers Players, ushered at Public Auditorium and Music Hall, and was a volunteer at the old St. Joseph Christian Life Center. She enjoyed travel, photography, and was an excellent cook.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, Jan. 9, 2017 at St. Clare Catholic Church at 11:30 AM. Burial in All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Rita at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON RD. (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SUNDAY 3-6 PM.
