Rita M. Burke

Rita M. (nee Hynes) Burke passed peacefully into eternal life on Saturday September 18^, 2021, just ten days after celebrating her 93^rd birthday surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of St. Anselm Catholic Church in Chesterland. Rita was married to Anthony J. Burke (deceased) for 67 years. Together, they raised their family in Kirtland, were avid “Band Parents”, and enjoyed golf, bowling, taking road trips, square dancing, ushering at Playhouse Square, and rooting for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. She also loved art, ceramics, gardening, floral arranging and antiques. Friends and family will especially remember her awesome cheesecake, and the scratch-made cakes she made for many family birthdays.

Survivors include daughter Linda (Richard) Dugovic, sons Tom (Marita) Burke and Rick Burke; grandchildren Dan, Tom and Mike Dugovic, Jeremy Burke, Elise (Sean) Hamlin, Dana, Kyla and Ryan Burke; great grandchildren Nick and Lila Guthrie and many loving relatives.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Rita at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) FRIDAY, October 1, 2021 4-8 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, October 2, 2021 at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 12969 Chillicothe Rd, Chesterland, OH 44026, at 11 AM.

Burial following at All Souls Cemetery.
