RICHARD W. LAUT age 96, beloved husband of the late Angelene (nee Pollina); loving father of Richard Jr. (wife Linda), Barbara Strauchon (husband Thomas), and William (wife Sheila); devoted grandfather of Angelene Strauchon, TJ (wife Carmen), Diana Kerr (husband Thomas), Austin, Grant, and Sabrina Laut, great-grandfather of Makenzie, Maia and Thomas and step grandfather of Kimberly Todd (husband Brian) and Matthew Will (wife Amy); cherished son of the late Willis F. and Jeannette (nee Mehl); dearest brother of the late Yvonne Dillon, Beverly Tranter, Gwen Long and Thomas; dear uncle and great-uncle of many. WWII U.S. Navy Veteran.

Richard was born on February 11, 1923 and passed away on June 17, 2019. He moved from Middletown, Ohio to Cleveland in 1948, and lived in Highland Heights, previously Cleveland Heights. He was a member of St. Pascal Baylon Parish. A 1941 graduate of Middletown High School, Richard was a proud alumnus of Ohio University, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II, and worked as a manufacturers’ representative for Master Builders. Richard was a prolific artist and enjoyed painting, sculpting, carving, and enameling. He played guitar, bridge, and tennis, and traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe. Richard was described as a larger-than-life. He was intelligent, social, funny and witty, and devoted to his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 11 AM at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church 5384 Wilson Mills Rd., Highland Hts, OH 44143. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Richard at THE CHURCH SATURDAY MORNING, AUGUST 31, 2019, FROM 10-11 AM. Arrangements by THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS.
