RICHARD L. “DICK” RAY age 79, beloved husband for 53 years of Irina G. “Renie” (nee Andes); loving father of Kellie Lonchar (husband Michael, deceased), Rick, and Stephanie Duca (husband Dana); devoted grandfather of Michael (wife Maura), Cody, and the late Nicholas Lonchar, Joey and Stevie Duca  and great-grandfather of Keilan Lonchar; cherished son of the late Daniel E. and Ann I. (nee Ryan); dearest brother of Paul and the late Bob (wife Agnes, deceased), Jack (wife Mabel, deceased), Bill (wife Nancy), Dorothy Fuerst (husband Jim, deceased), Shirley Wagner (husband Larry, deceased), Margie McPherson (husband Fred, deceased), and Carol Ward (husband Tim, deceased); treasured brother-in-law of June Ray, Bill and Rhonda Andes, Jackie and Bill Pakonis; dear uncle and great-uncle of many. Long-time friend of Jerry Nolan, Ray Guy and many others.

Dick was born on April 27, 1942 in Cleveland and passed away on July 14, 2021. He was a resident of Chesterland for 10 years, previously South Euclid for 40 years. Dick was a member of the Transportation and Clerk’s Union. He graduated from Collinwood High School in 1961 and proudly worked for 40 years starting with New York Central Railroad and retiring from CSX. Dick was also the former owner of local taverns Catfish II in Cleveland and Catfish III in Painesville. He was a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan and longtime season ticket holder. Dick was a man of few words, strong convictions, and a sharp Irish wit. He loved his family fiercely and lived life on his own terms. He will be dearly missed by all.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Celebration of Life Service Sunday, August 8, 2021 at 4PM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Dick at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SUNDAY 1-4 PM.
