Richard Erickson

RICHARD C. ERICKSON age 65, beloved husband for 39 years of Billie (nee Coates); loving father of Scott; cherished son of the late William R. and Mary (nee Passaro); dearest brother of William (wife Linda), Linda Shaffer (husband Paul) and Pat Hess (husband Michael); treasured brother-in-law of Leslie Coates and Scott and Vickie Coates; dear uncle of Leanne Patterson, Tom Erickson, Jeremy Shaffer, Travis, Shannon and Alex Coates and the late Kevin Shaffer.

Richard was born on February 25, 1951 and passed away on January 30, 2017. He was a 33 year resident of Chardon and then lived for 10 years in Cleveland Heights. Richard was a parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church. He graduated high school in Erie, PA, earned his undergraduate degree at Penn State and went on to earn his master’s degree at Case Western Reserve. Richard was owner/operator of Fowler’s Milling Company. He enjoyed horseback riding and sports activities with his son. Richard was a Browns, Indians and Cavs fan, and enjoyed Rock and Roll music. He had a sense of humor, loved to laugh and make other people laugh. Richard was hard working and could make something out of nothing. He will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Richard’s memory to Malachi House 2810 Clinton Ave., Cleveland, OH 44113. Celebration of Life Service Saturday, February 4, 2017 at THE FUNERAL HOME at 1 PM. Private burial at Fowlers Mill Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Richard at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) SATURDAY 11-1 AM.
