RICHARD E. JENNINGS, age 79 of Mentor, passed away on November 17, 2022, after a battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Denise (nee Dalessandro); loving father of Lynne Billington, Rick (wife Emily) and Kari Arnold (husband Matthew); devoted grandfather of Hudson, Wally, Brookes, Amelia and Layla; cherished son of the late Edward and Clara Virginia (nee Loomis); dearest brother of Walter (wife Jeanne) and Donald; fond brother-in-law of Dawn and Alan Evangelista, Doreen and Bob Buemi, Donna and Drew Huff, Nick and Gale Dalessandro, Darcie and Glenn Kanaga, Don and Lisa Dalessandro and the late Diane Jennings; dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend of many.
Richard was born March 6, 1943, in Cleveland, OH, grew up in Pepper Pike and graduated from Orange High School in 1961. His claim to fame was he had the largest Plain Dealer paper route. After high school, he attended college and then joined the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. With computer training from the military, he got a job with Rockwell Automation (formerly Allen Bradley) where he met his wife Denise of 45 years. He was active in the company’s bowling, golf and softball leagues and retired after 37 years. When his kids were young, he attended and coached many of their sporting events. Rich was very handy and a man of many skills who could fix most anything. He enjoyed watching Cleveland sports, bowling, golf, traveling all over the US and Europe and listening to Fleetwood Mac and anything from the 60’s. Rich was friendly, intelligent and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Everyone will remember him for his parties that included spending time in the hot tub. Rich will forever be missed.

Celebration of Life Service Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 11 AM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial following with Military Honors at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Rich at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) MONDAY 4-8 PM.
