Richard Bartunek

December 3, 1946 — January 23, 2024

RICHARD BARTUNEK age 77, beloved husband of Mary Jo, who he spent 18 wonderful years with; loving father of Christine Mudra (Jeffrey), Dianne Sattler (Daniel), Michael Bartunek (Aliza), Brian Bartunek (Caroline), Becca Bartunek (Jeffrey), Amber Curtiss (Keith), Dillon Klein, Shane Klein, and Travis Klein (Lexi); devoted grandfather of Megan, Logan, Tristan, Parker, Lydia, Annaliisa, Levi, Hazel, and Elliana; cherished son of the late Leonard and Elizabeth Bartunek; dearest brother of the late James, Robert, and Kenneth Bartunek; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

Richard was born on December 3, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War. After raising his families in Northeast Ohio, he and Mary Jo retired in Florida. He was a lifelong member of the VFW, as well as a member of the American Legion, Eagles, and Elks Club. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and if he was not riding, he was accessorizing it with new modifications. Richard would tinker on not only his bike, but just about anything and for anyone. He was also a singer and professional DJ. You could truly say he was a Jack of all trades. Richard enjoyed the feel of the open road and taking long trips around the country with his wife and fellow riders.  He always loved to be around friends and family and to bring everyone together.  There was no greater achievement for Rich than being promoted to grandpa; he lived for his grandchildren.  On January 23, 2024, Richard passed away leaving his family missing him endlessly.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Richard at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) Thursday, February 1, 2024, 4-7 PM.

Service Friday, February 2, 2024, at 11 AM at THE FUNERAL HOME.

Burial following with Military Honors at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens.
