Rev. Richard L. Barth, of Eastlake, went to be with his Lord on May 25, 2016.
He was born August 5, 1930, in Youngstown, the son of the late Paul and Ethel (Regal) Barth. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Maribelle Ann Barth.
Mr. Barth was a 1953 graduate of Eastern Bible Institute in Green Lane, Pennsylvania and was ordained by the Presbytery of the Ohio District Council of the Assemblies of God in 1957. He served as Pastor for more than 41 years, through many building programs, ministries and outreach missions. He pastored at Rogers Assembly of God in Rogers, Summit Assembly of God in Girard and for more than 27 years at Calvary Assembly of God in Willoughby Hills. He also served as Presbyter of the Greater Cleveland Section of the Assemblies of God for more than 10 years. In addition to pastoring, he loved his family, his church family, music and gardening.
Richard is survived by his son Doug (wife Cindi) Barth of Timberlake; daughters: Cheryl Barth and Wendy (husband Scott) Sanderson of Eastlake; grandchildren: Ryan (wife Sam) Sanderson of Eastlake, Kristine (husband Matthew) Staton of Willowick, Michael (wife Courtney) Barth of Mentor, and Ashley Sanderson (fiancé Pat Joslin) of Painesville; eight great grandchildren; brothers: Daniel Barth of Berea, Robert S. (wife Elaine) Barth of Live Oak, Florida, Paul (wife Joan) Barth Jr. of Dalton; and a host of nieces and nephews. Brothers, John Barth and David Barth, preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life Service officiated by Rev. Daniel DeLembo will be held on Friday June 3, 2016 at Calvary Assembly of God 28870 Chardon Rd., Willoughby Hills at 11 a.m. Burial following at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens Chester Township. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Richard at the Zevnik-Cosic Funeral Home, 28890 Chardon Rd., Willoughby Hills Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 pm and Friday at the church 9:30 – 11 a.m.
