Rev. Fr. Edmund Slattery

REV. FR. EDMUND JOHN SLATTERY, S.S.S., “Fr. Jack “, aged 87 years, died Friday, June 25, 2010 at Regina Health Center. He was born on July 29, 1922 in New York. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Community since 1942, and was ordained a priest on March 25, 1950.

Beloved son of the late Edmund Thomas and Nora (nee Plaice), dear brother of Kevin and the late Anne and Gerard, and a loving uncle.

Fr. Slattery served various ministries during his 68 years in the Order, as Congregation treasurer (Albuquerque), as hospital chaplain (New York City and Albuquerque), parish assistant (Philippines), Superior and police chaplain (Albuquerque) and Director of Pre-Cana for the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. In 1998 he retired to the Bethany Center at The Blessed Sacrament Community in Highland Heights, and resided at Regina since 2001.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the Regina Health Center Chapel at 11 AM. Burial following in All Souls Cemetery.

The Congregation and his family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Fr. Jack at REGINA HEALTH CENTER, 5232 BROADVIEW RD., RICHFIELD ON TUESDAY FROM 3:00 to 7:30 PM. Prayer service Tuesday at 7:30 PM.
