Renee Z. Van Cauwenberghe

RENEE Z. VAN CAUWENBERGHE (aka Renee Galland), aged 97 years, beloved wife of the late Maurice Lewis, cherished sister of Victor and the late Madeleine, treasured aunt of Patrick Van Cauwenberghe and family, and Regina Rivero and family. Born March 4, 1924 in Auchy Lesmines, France, Renee was a decorated member of the French Resistance in W.W. II. She was known for throwing elegant parties and as a professional singer, preformed at the White House, Carnegie Hall, the Front Row and many other venues.

ELEGANCE – CHARM – POISE

Miss Galland brought a continental flavor, a breath of Spring in Paris. Her vast repertoire was equal to her sultry voice which is unforgettable by her texture and quality. On stage Renee Galland not only sang but entertained as well. She was in complete control of her audience, singing in seven languages!

Friends may call to pay tribute to the life of Renee Galland on Monday, Jan. 24, 2022 from 1:30 – 2 PM at Lake View Cemetery Community Mausoleum (just inside the Mayfield Rd. entrance). Funeral services following at 2 PM. Entombment Lake View Mausoleum. Arrangements entrusted to THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID.
