Ralph D. Kordel

RALPH D. KORDEL age 73, beloved husband for 54 years of Jean (nee Pouble); loving father of David (Sun), Douglas (Dawn), Michael (Charlotte), and Lee (Diane); devoted grandfather of Alexander, Lauren, George, Isabel, and Alysa; cherished son of the late Frank and Wanda (nee Chmielewski); dearest brother of Elaine and the late Frank (Donna); dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

Ralph was born on November 22, 1943 in Cleveland and sadly passed away at age 73 on August 21, 2017. As a devout Catholic, he attended Cathedral Latin High School and The University of Dayton. Early in Ralph’s life he had many hobbies including playing in the marching band in high school, jamming with his band the Polka Katzs, tennis, fishing, gardening, camping, and golf. Ralph loved to go on adventures and drive anywhere in his free time. He was very intelligent, a human calculator and tinkered with cars.

Later in life, Ralph got the most enjoyment out of attending MS meetings, catching up with his Cathedral Latin Alumni, cooking, and canning.  He loved teaching, counseling, and spending time with his family. Ralph was loveable, caring, quirky, and everyone’s best friend. He loved his grandkids and the nicknames they gave him, for example, “Papa” and “Farfar.” Ralph will be dearly missed by all. He loved his wife Jean unconditionally.

Contributions may be made in memory of Ralph to the MS Society’s Ohio Buckeye Chapter and St. Jude’s, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN  38148-0142.
