Rachel Ange

Rachel Mary Ange,  97, went home to be with the Lord on Friday evening, September 20, 2019.  Rachel was born to Angelo and Mary (Ramaciatti)  Paponetti December 18, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio.  When Rachel was 10, her mom passed away and her dad married Theresa Occhinero. Rachel was the second oldest child of seven, the sister of Helen Roncalli and the late Elmo, Ida and Frank Paponetti, Louise Grim and Raymond Paponetti.

She was married to the late Louis Ange of Rochester, New York in 1944.  They had four children Maryann Sudnick (David), Diane Piazza (Paul), Mark (Patricia nee Shima) and Dennis (Natalie nee Colombo).  Rachel spoke so fondly of all of her grandchildren, Steven Sudnick (Jennifer), Stacey Lucarelli (David), Jennifer Gahagan (Kevin), PJ Piazza (Crissy), Alexis, Rachel, Samantha, and Alexandria Ange and her 12 great grandchildren who she referred to as her princesses and princes. She was a aunt, great-aunt and cousin of many.

Rachel had a way with her warm smile, love of stories and many songs. Family was very important to her and she had a heart for serving and encouraging others. Her glass was always at least half full. She lived an unbelievably long and abundant life and was loved and cherished by many.

Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 10 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Rachel at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.)  TUESDAY 2-4 & 5-8 PM.
