PRISCILLA “PENNY” RIECK (nee Priest), age 63; devoted wife for 23 years of the late Lawrence “Larry” Sr.; beloved mother of Amy DeBaltzo (husband Nicholas), Julie DiCillo (husband David), and Lawrence R. Jr. (wife Kristin); loving grandmother of Jake, Abby, twins Darren and Tyler, Cate, Jenna and Nathan; dearest daughter of Miles (wife Orpha) and Ruth “Pauline” (deceased) Priest; dear sister of Patricia Meshew (husband Keith), Pamela Miller (husband Ernest) and Michael Priest; loving daughter-in-law of Margaret and sister-in-law of Bonnie Varanese and Daniel.
Penny was born on September 15, 1952 in Wooster and passed away on December 3, 2015 in Arizona. She was a resident of Chandler, Arizona for 7 years formerly of Highland Heights. Penny was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran in Arizona and Messiah Lutheran in Lyndhurst where she sang in the choir. She graduated from Northwestern High School in Wayne County and attended Bluffton and Virginia Mardi Colleges. Penny retired from Mesa Airlines where she was a flight attendant and Instructor. She loved making couture hats and she started her own hat making business. Several of her hats are on display at the Kentucky Derby Museum. Penny enjoyed boating and reading, especially Nora Roberts novels. She loved Christmas time, Browns football parties and boating at the Airshow. Penny will be remembered most as a creative, flamboyant, bold and classy woman.
Tribute Service Friday, December 18, 2015 at 10:30 AM at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) where family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Penny FRIDAY 9:30 AM UNTIL TIME OF SERVICE. Burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery FRIDAY at 1:15 PM.
