PHYLLIS JEANETTE HARMON (nee Aliff), age 92, passed away on May 26, 2024 at the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center in Fairlawn, Ohio from complications of dementia.
Phyllis lived for the past 17 years in Lyndhurst, Ohio with her daughter, Kathy. She was born March 14, 1932 in Bluefield, West Virginia and lived there for many years. She also lived in Mountain City, TN; Mobile, AL; San Antonio, TX; Sanford, NC; Tazewell, VA; Vineland, NJ; and Lyndhurst, OH. She worked for 20 years at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland, NJ from 1972-1992 as an HST.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her: grandparents - William & Sarah (nee Arthur) Aliff and Clifford & Emmer (nee Curd) Hall; parents - Williams Wistar Aliff and Bonnie Mae Aliff Wright (nee Hall); brothers - Lewis Edward Aliff (Jeanette) and Bonny Wistar Aliff (Hélène); and sister - Janet Darlene Lipford Harmon (James). Also gone are many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Phyllis leaves behind her daughter, Kathy Jeanette Harmon of Lyndhurst, OH; nieces and nephews - Suzanne Lane (Steve) of Bullhead City, AZ; William Aliff (Kathy) of Tacoma, WA; Lewis Edward Aliff, Jr. of Crouse, NC; great-nieces and nephews - Marty Justice (Maria) of Shelton, WA; Tanner Aliff of Depoe Bay, OR; Stephanie Lane-Fortner (Evan) of Bullhead City, AZ; Samuel Lane of Ft. Meade, MD; and Joseph Edward Aliff of King’s Lynn, Norfolk, England; second great-nieces and nephews - Abbi Justice, Caroline Mae Lane-Fortner and Daniel Erza Lane-Fortner; cousins - Jack Hall (Mary) of Jonesboro, TN; Cliff Hall (Patsy) of Chattanooga, TN; Barton Hall (Maxine) of Mountain City, TN; Carol Clifton (Tommy) of Knoxville, TN; Sharon Price (Dennis) of Laurel Bloomery, TN; Kathy Reese of Johnson County, TN; Mary Grace McGowan (John) of Pataskala, OH; and many more cousins on the Aliff side.
Phyllis’s wish was to be cremated with a small family service, which will be held next spring at the Hall Family Cemetery in Mountain City, TN.
To honor Phyllis’s memory, contributions may be made to your local hospice facility.
