PHILIP CASKOVIC, age 65; beloved husband for 30 years of Eileen (nee Krieski); loving father of Julie and Eric; cherished son of the late Novica “Mike” and Barbara (nee Zlacki) Caskovic; dearest brother of Frances Jackson, Cathy Turkovic (husband Ivan) and the late John; treasured son-in-law of Kathleen and the late William Krieski; dear brother-in-law, uncle and friend of many. .
Phil was born in Italy and came to the United States in 1951. He was a US Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran. Phil was a resident of Lyndhurst for the past 28 years, previously of Mayfield Heights. He was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Phil attended Benedictine High School and Tri-C. He was employed as a customer service representative for Famous Supply Heating and Cooling.
Phil was a marathon runner, participating in over 20 marathons. Some of his past times were reading about history, watching the Cleveland Browns and ice fishing. Phil loved nature. He enjoyed the music of the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and jazz.
Phil’s family remembers him as a family man who was very disciplined, honest and honorable. He possessed a good sense of humor and had an easy going and fun loving nature which made him very well-liked by many.
Contributions may be made in Phil’s memory to The City Mission, 5310 Carnegie Ave., Cleveland, OH 44103. Relatives and friends are requested to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6850 Mayfield Rd., Gates Mills, OH 44040 at 10 AM. Burial following with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Phil at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) MONDAY 4-8 PM.
