Peter John Strahinic, age 93, of Mentor, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21. He was born August 7, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio. Peter has been a resident of Mentor for for over 50 years. He was a member of St. John Vianney, the Croatian Fraternal Union #859 and a U.S. Army Veteran. He worked as a Foreman for TRW for 44 years and retired in 1983.
He is survived by his sons: Gary (Nancy) and Michael (Margaret); his grandchildren: Leigh Arino (Eduardo), Megan Rhodus (Christopher) and Alan; his great grandchildren: Natha, Jessie and Allie; and his sister Goldie Malone.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Patricia (nee O’Brien; his parents: Nicholas and Mary; his siblings: Nicholas (Martha), Eli (Reema), John (Martha), Michael (Dorothy), George (Catherine), Mary Stanley (Robert) and Milan and his brother-in-law, James Malone.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Peter at the DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Road (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91), Tuesday, April 25 from 4-7 PM. A Parastas Service will be held at 6:30pm. Funeral Mass, Wednesday, 10 AM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower Rd., Mentor. (Please Meet at Church). Interment Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland.
