PAUL L. EARLEY age 83, beloved husband for 55 years of the late Madeline (nee Vitolo); loving father of Diana Pistone (husband Biagio); devoted grandfather of Dominic and Michael Pistone; cherished son of the late Paul and Sarah (nee Umbel); dearest brother of Robert (wife Judy, deceased), Roger (wife Audrey), and the late Patricia Kobunski (husband Paul); dear uncle and great uncle of many. U.S. Army Veteran.
Paul was born on October 28, 1940, in Amend, Pennsylvania and was a resident of Mayfield Heights for more than 60 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honored to be a member of both the Mayfield Heights and Highland Heights Auxiliary Police Force. He was also a longtime member of the American Legion. Paul worked for the City of Mayfield Heights in the Maintenance Department.
His hobbies included cooking, gardening, and taking trips to the casinos. He was also an avid sports fan and favored the Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Buckeyes. Above all things, Paul loved being a grandpa and watching his grandchildren in the Mayfield Marching Band. On November 23, 2023, Paul passed away surrounded by his loving family. Paul was described by his family as outgoing, loving, social, giving, caring, and devoted to his family and faith. He had an act for making people laugh with his sense of humor, and he will be missed by many.
Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 10 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6850 Mayfield Rd, Gates Mills, OH 44040. Entombment following with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Paul at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) TUESDAY 4-8 PM.
