Paul Krainz

Paul Louis Krainz passed away in Manila, Philippines on Friday, April 17 at the age of 74.

He was born on June 23, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio to Alice F. and Michael L. Krainz. He attended Eymard Preparatory Seminary in Hyde Park, New York for four years and graduated from The University of The State of New York in 1962 with an Associate of Arts degree. Soon thereafter, Paul was ordained and served in the Philippines as a Blessed Sacrament Father until 1978.

After moving back to Cleveland, Paul began working for Cleveland Hearing and Speech and on January 3, 1981, he and Maria Lourdes Cordero were married by Mayor George Voinovich in a quiet ceremony in downtown Cleveland.

After obtaining his Masters in Non-Profit Organization from Case Western Reserve University in 1992, Paul worked for the Blessed Sacrament Fathers & Brothers as their Development Director, retiring from the organization in 2005. After retirement, Paul and Maria accomplished their dream and moved to Manila, Philippines.

Paul is survived by his wife of 34 years, Maria Lourdes Krainz of Manila, Philippines; son, Jonathan Paul (Katie) Krainz and grandson, Xavier Jonathan Krainz, of Lakewood, OH; daughter, Krista (Rich) Sasak of Aurora, OH; brother, Ronald (Millie) Krainz; nephews Michael (Elizabeth), John (Jill), Thomas (Laura); and niece Nancy (Thomas).

Family will receive guests at St. Paschal Baylon Church, 5360 Wilson Mills Rd, Highland Heights, OH 44143 on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 9:15 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Immediately following the Mass, Paul will be interred at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon, OH.
