Patrick M. Walsh

January 14, 1958 — February 4, 2025

Patrick M. Walsh, born January 14, 1958, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Patrick was the beloved son of Daniel J. and Marianne C. Walsh of Chardon, OH, both deceased.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Walsh.

He is survived by his sister, Marie Jones and husband James Jones, Chardon, OH; brother, Dennis Walsh and wife Teresa Walsh, Newport Beach, CA; brother, Mark Walsh, Painesville, OH; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Patrick attended St. Mary's Elementary School in Chardon, OH, and later graduated from Lake Catholic High School in Mentor, OH.

A highly-skilled electrician, Patrick was a long-time member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 38 in Cleveland, OH. With specialized skills in intricate electrical control work, Patrick contributed to many significant projects including the construction of Cleveland Guardians Stadium and installations at the NASA Glenn Research Center.

Patrick was a wonderful uncle who always brought love and laughter to his nieces and nephews, all of whom adored their Uncle Pat.

Patrick was also at his happiest when feeling the sun on his face and the wind in his hair racing his boat across inland lakes. He was confident that the concept of "Happy Hour" came about as others copied his daily habits and prided himself on the excellence he brought to that endeavor.

Pat's pride in his workmanship was legendary to the level of an art form.

An electrical inspector once opened a newly-wired electrical panel in a building under construction and was amazed at the workmanship. "This is the most beautifully-wired electrical panel I've ever seen. Whose work is this?" he asked. The general contractor answered, "This project is being wired by Patrick Walsh."

The inspector smiled. "I should have known. He's the best of the best." As he turned to leave, he handed the contractor a green card.

"Knowing this is Patrick's job, I don't even need to do an inspection."

All of us who were blessed to have shared our lives with Patrick will hold the warmest memories of Patrick in our hearts forever.

A celebration of his life will be held sometime this Spring.

Arrangements and cremation entrusted to THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY OF CHARDON (formerly Ritondaro).
