Patricia Mihalcik

PATRICIA M. MIHALCIK age 66, cherished daughter of the late Joseph J. and Julia A. (nee Reshonsky) Mihalcik; dearest sister of Joan E. Mihalcik; dear cousin and friend to many. Survived by her feline companion Abby.

Patricia was born on September 19, 1952 in Garfield Heights and passed away on December 1, 2018 in Beachwood. She was a longtime resident of Mayfield Heights and moved to Willoughby Hills about four years ago.  She graduated from Regina High School in 1970 and received a bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame College in 1974.  Patricia had a deep abiding faith and was very spiritual.  She was a devoted member of St. Noel Church for the past 25 years, and was active in the healing ministry, monthly retreats, the Christmas project, and the gift program.  For over 37 years Patricia worked as a medical technologist in microbiology at the Cleveland Clinic, Bedford Hospital and University Hospital. She was an avid reader and books filled her apartment.  Patricia enjoyed sewing, crochet, knitting, needlepoint, and cross-stitch.  She also enjoyed attending art shows, going to movies, and gardening.  Being with her cats was always special to her and she loved her toy fox terriers.  Patricia enjoyed the beauty of a perfect day. She loved Christmas and attended midnight mass regularly.  The Easter vigil service was always a special time for her, as were birthday celebrations.  Patricia loved life.  She had a big, caring, and generous heart, and was always trying to help people who were going through tough times.  She had a real gift for knowing the right words to say, and could pray from her heart.  Patricia was smart and a whiz at math, as well as creative and artistic with a great sense of humor.  She was a wonderful sister and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at St. Noel Catholic Church at 10 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Patricia at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) MONDAY 2-4 & 5-8 PM.
