PATRICIA ANN GESKE (nee Flaesgarten), age 83; loving mother of Christina Phillips (Jim Munson), Corinne Barnett (husband Ivan, deceased), and Derek Geske (wife Kimberly); devoted grandmother of Patrick (wife Lizz) Riedy, Anthony (Elizabeth Yurglic) Riedy, Joseph Riedy, Christian Geske, Sean (wife Izzie) King, Stephen Conahan, and great-grandmother of five; cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette Flaesgarten; dearest sister of the late Carolyn Martin (husband Chuck, deceased); dear aunt of Stacy Stack, Chuck Martin and their families.
Pat was born November 30, 1939 in Cleveland and passed away peacefully at home July 9, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was a resident of Willoughby Hills for over 30 years, previously living in Euclid. She graduated from Euclid High School in 1958. Pat worked as a Head Cashier in the grocery industry for Fazio’s Stop-N-Shop (member of UFCW Local 880) among others while raising her children and eventually retiring from Giant Eagle. After retirement Pat continued to work as a book keeper and office manager for several companies. She enjoyed all of the people she met while working. She was a proud member of the Lake County Republican Party, VFW Post 4358 and Willoughby Hills VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She was especially proud to be elected to the Republican Party Central Committee for District 7-GG. Pat was known to be passionate about her politics. She enjoyed gardening, sports, traveling, and most especially any family gathering. Cooking was a passion. She loved to feed her family and friends and it was not uncommon to have a house full of friends and family for Sunday dinner while watching the Browns football games. Having her entire family around for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter were very important to her. Pat loved vacationing with family and friends, planning yearly vacations with the grandchildren during their childhood. There were also many trips with friends to Put-In-Bay or Kelley’s Island. She was a loyal follower of the Browns and Indians. She will be remembered as The Family Matriarch, very loyal and a true ‘people person’ – she loved talking to everyone and was a friend to all she met. She was always there for anything her family needed. Pat will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and community.
