Paola Kerestes

PAOLA KERESTES (nee Fonovic) age 83, beloved wife for 63 years of  Drago; loving mother of Tatiana Jurisevic (husband Walter) and Klaudia Gardner (husband Michael); devoted grandmother of Lauren Calabrese (husband Anthony), Alexander Gardner, Jonathan and Elizabeth Jurisevic; cherished daughter of the late Antonio and Lucia (nee Lupitin) Fonovic; dearest sister of the late Valentine, Anton, Mario, Maria and Albina, all of Croatia; dear aunt of many.

Paola was born in Skitaca, Croatia on February 23, 1937, and passed peacefully at her daughter’s home with her family at her side on October 4, 2020.  She was a resident of Euclid for 48 years, and prior to that she lived in Cleveland.  Paola’s hobbies included cooking, dancing, singing, shopping, and thrifting. She enjoyed listening to Istrian folk music and polkas. Her grandchildren and family gave her the most enjoyment in life. Holidays were a time for Paola to enjoy cooking and eating.  She was the life of the party; people always flocked to her.  Friendly, generous, selfless, and compassionate, Paola always put others before herself. She will be dearly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, October 8, 2020 at St. Vitus Catholic Church at 11 AM. Private Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Paola at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) WEDNESDAY 4-8 PM.
