NORMAN E. SPIES age 83 beloved husband for 61 years of  Mary Ann  (nee Fifolt); loving father of Michael (wife Donna), Deborah Znidarsic (husband Marko), Patricia Muhvic (husband George), Christine Wells (husband Jeff), and Jennifer Spies; devoted grandfather of Michael Spies, Samantha Goetz (husband Thomas), Victoria Znidarsic, Nicolas and Mario Spies, Markus Znidarsic, Alexandrea Spies, Peyton and Emerson Wells, twins Andrew and Evan Muhvic, and Wilson Wells; cherished son of the late Robert and Anna (nee Schindler); dearest brother of Sr. Assunta, OSU (deceased) and Robert; fond brother-in-law of Jacqueline Petronzio, Rosemary and Barry Kornreich and the late William and Emily Fifolt; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

Norman was born on July 24, 1935 and passed away peacefully on January 22, 2019. He grew up in Collinwood and graduated from Collinwood High School in 1953. Norman worked hard as a sheet metal worker. He and his wife Mary Ann lived in Chardon where they raised their 5 children. He was an usher at St Mary’s parish and was a proud member of the Sheet Metal Union Local 33, the NRA, Weslaco Rifle Club and the Knights of Columbus. Norman truly enjoyed hunting, trap shooting, watching sports and bowling. He truly loved nature and animals. Norman and Mary Ann traveled often to their lovely condo in Marco Island. He was faithfully devoted to spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was friendly, caring and had the most positive outlook on life. Norman had a good sense of humor and was down to earth. He will be remembered most as honest, outgoing and always up for a good conversation. He will forever be missed.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11:30 AM St. Mary Catholic Church, 401 North, Chardon, Ohio 44024. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Norman at THE DeJOHN Funeral Home & Crematory of Chardon (formerly Ritondaro) 126 South St.  (Rt. 44, south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) FRIDAY 4-8 PM.
