Nimal Weerasekera

NIMAL WEERASEKERA was born on April 20, 1942 in Sri Lanka, to the late Fredrick and Linda (nee Abeyakoom). He is the beloved husband of Evelene Weerasekera.

Nimal was a faithful dedicated servant of Jehovah, he truly loved Jehovah. He served as an elder, coordinator, and pioneer for many years. He happily served on the Hospital Liaison Committee. Nimal loved helping others to come to know Jehovah and the promise that he looked forward to, which is to live forever in paradise. Nimal was a sports fan who loved to bowl and golf. He also enjoyed soul food, cooking, traveling and visiting with friends and family. Listening to Jazz music was a joy to him. A few of his greatest enjoyements were his dedicated wife, family and friends. He was outgoing, understanding, kind and loving, but he was also serious… yet quite the jokester. Nimal always enjoyed a nice suit and tie.

Nimal fell asleep in death on December 09, 2022. He will greatly be missed by everyone who knew him. We all look forward to seeing him shortly in the promised resurrection!

He leaves to cherish his memories his faithful and loving wife, Evelene (Hester), for over 39 years. Loving father of Nathasha Westcott (Patrick), Evangeline Crenshaw (Reginald) and Barry Sullivan; devoted grandfather of Robert Hennings, Malissa and Ashley Crenshaw and great-grandfather of Vangelina and Travis Hennings; cherished son of the late Fredrick and Linda (Abeyakoom); dearest brother of Felix (Chitrangani), Theresa Peiris (Joseph, deceased), Monica Goonatillake (Hubert), Antonette Colombage and the late Srilal (Selomy); dear uncle and great-uncle of many.
