Nikola Franic

Nikola Franić, age 91, of Euclid, passed away peacefully February 10, 2025. Born July 25, 1933 in Rudopolje, Lika, in Croatia, he escaped from communist Yugoslavia and arrived in America in 1959 aboard the U.S.S. Constitution. He worked at W.S. Tyler Co. for over 40 years. A devoted member of the Croatian Fraternal Union of America since 1959, Nikola served as President of Cardinal A. Stepinac CFU Lodge 995 for 27 years and was a founding member of the Croatian Lodge in Eastlake. He was active in St. Paul Croatian Church and served as President of the Youth Club, preserving Croatian culture and traditions.

Beloved husband of Angela (deceased); loving father of Vishna Herrity (Joe); grandfather of April and Sean Herrity; great-grandfather of Zainedean and Taher Gharib; brother of Mandica Humer; uncle of Mladen and Miroslav Humer.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Nikola at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON RD. (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91), Sunday, February 16, from 2-5pm. Funeral Mass Monday, February 17, 8:30am, at St. Paul Croatian Church, 1369 E. 40 St., Cleveland (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, Ohio.
