Nicolino Salomone

NICOLINO SALOMONE age 89, beloved husband of the late Louise  (nee Liberatore); loving father of Frank Nardis (wife Pamela) and Carla Bondra (husband John); devoted grandfather of Jennifer Siders (husband Glen), Brian Boyd (wife Robin), Adam Nardis (wife Erin), Alyssa Calhoun (husband Elliott), Johanna, Christian and Nicholas Bondra; great-grandfather of Kelsea, Cameron, Lexi, Caden, Rylee, Adelyn, Evan and Caleb and great great-grandfather of Emerea; cherished son of the late Gerardo and Elisabetta (nee Caldarelli); preceded in death by 1 brother and 3 sisters; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

Nicolino was born on October 28, 1927 in Aquila, Italy and passed away on March 17, 2017. As a young man he was a shepherd in Italy and later moved to Canada and worked in the gold mines until he moved to South Euclid in 1961. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church/ Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. Nicolino attended school in Italy and became a laborer working for Eaton Axle. After retirement, he worked on the grounds of Knollwood Cemetery. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and listening to country music. Nick received the most enjoyment in life spending time with his grandkids. He was a social servant, storyteller, kind, funny, outgoing and had a sense of humor. Nick will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, March 23, 2017 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish 1545 S. Green Rd, South Euclid, OH 44121 at 11 am. Entombment following at Knollwood Mausoleum. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Nick at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) WEDNESDAY 4-8 PM.
