Nežka Agnes Vidmar, 72, of Perry, passed away at home surrounded prayerfully by her loving family on Thursday, January 25, 2018. She was born on April 24, 1945 in Predoslje, Slovenia, daughter of Janez and Ivana (Kokalj) Ovsenik. She had a simple childhood in a large family on the farm in the lovely village of Predoslje, until age 12 when she came to the United States. Her Slovenian heritage and Catholic faith were always beautifully apparent in her. She lived in Cleveland, attended St. Vitus grade school and graduated from St. Francis High School in 1964. She did secretarial work at Richman Brothers. She met her husband Frank Vidmar in the Slovenian dance group Kres. They were married in 1967 and moved to Perry in 1978. Agnes worked in the family business, Lake County Parts Warehouse for many years doing bookkeeping and being a supportive wife to her husband who was very dedicated as Vice President of LCPW. She faithfully and lovingly raised three children who are so grateful. Nežka enjoyed dancing polkas and waltzes with her husband, attending and supporting Slovenian events in the Cleveland area, church activities and spending quality time with all 11 grandchildren. She was a consistent support to them in their various activities and always shared with them her quiet, loving goodness and faithfulness, which they will always carry with them. She was active in many groups at St. Cyprian’s Church in Perry and was loved by many there. Much of her time in retirement was spent with activities at Slovenska Pristava in Harpersfield and the Pristava Pensioners Club, for which she served as Recording Secretary and constant help to her husband who served as President up until this past November. She had many long time Slovenian friends that she so enjoyed being with and who enjoyed her company. Everyone she knew will remember her kind, gentle and sweet way.
Nežka was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings including her brother and sister in law, Janez and Urška Ovsenik, who were very special to her and brother in law Jože Gabrič.
She will be greatly missed by her entire family, especially her devoted husband of 50 years, Frank Vidmar, who cared for her so tenderly and thoroughly during her two year battle with lymphoma. She is also survived by daughter Barbara Vidmar (Michael) Beyer, son Frank A. (Christine Kosem) Vidmar, daughter Victoria Vidmar (Edward) Wade, grandchildren Ryan (Karissa Hoegler), Adam, Kyle, Jaclyn and Jason Beyer, Olivia, Billy and Lucy Vidmar, Emma, Charlie and Sam Wade and great grandson Lincoln Beyer, with another great granddaughter on the way.
