NANCY JOY (nee Reed) CONLEY

Prayers of Christian Burial for Nancy Conley, 59, will be on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 7:30 PM at DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Road (between Bishop Road & Rt. 91). Nancy died August 23, 2014 at her home.

Born November 24, 1954 in Hollywood, FL, Nancy was a resident of Stow for four years after moving from Chesterland. She was a member of St. Anselm Catholic Church where she volunteered and worked at the church and school as well as a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She also worked as a nurse at University Hospitals for nine years and was a homemaker. In her free time, Nancy enjoyed camping with friends and family, baking, sewing and listening to country music. Her favorite activities were summer and church carnivals and she especially loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and husband. She will be remembered by many as a very Christian woman who was an angel to strangers and patients alike.

Her main goal in life was to make people a little happier, while taking only a small amount of pleasure for her own. As in her name itself, many will remember all the “joy” she offered to others no matter their response to her. She is smiling this day as she looks down at all those who love her.

She is survived by her husband John E.Conley; son Jack James (Katie); daughters Aime Fountain (Kevin, retired 1st Sgt. USMC), Mary Gregori (fiancé Brian Fuzie), Bridget Gregori, Teresa Gregori; 9 grandchildren; mother Shirley (nee Sweet) Reed; brother Edward Reed; sisters Heidi (Ted) Geiser, Diana Behrend, Melanie (Brian) Stretchbery and step-son Jamison (Amber) Conley and step-daughter Heather Conley. She was also the aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Nancy was preceded in death by her son Terry James and father Edward R. Reed.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Nancy at DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Road (between Bishop Road & Rt. 91) Tuesday 4-7:30 PM. Cremation to follow with a burial on Wednesday at 10 AM at Western Reserve Memorial Garden Cemetery.
