Mildred F. Zupancic

MILDRED F. ZUPANCIC (nee Sterle) age 100, beloved wife of the late Rudolph J.; loving mother of Joanna Pope (husband George deceased) and the late Rudolph L.; devoted grandmother of Denise Casey, great-grandmother of Sarah Murray, Kayla Urbanija (husband Brian), Jacob Murray (wife Leah), Aaron Casey and Olivia Drobny and great-great-grandmother of Milo; cherished daughter of the late John and Frances (nee Mulc) Sterle; dearest sister of the late John Sterle and Dorothy Cowper (husband Eugene deceased); loving  aunt, great aunt and friend to many. Survived by her canine companion Champion and feline companion Kitty-Poo. 

Mildred was born on September 15, 1923 in Cleveland, attended Collinwood High School and was a long-time resident of Euclid. She was employed as a lamp assembler at Cuyahoga Lamp at Nela Park, General Electric from 1956 – 1984.  Mildred’s hobbies included gardening, baking, crocheting, sewing and dancing to her favorite polkas. Traveling brought her special enjoyment, especially to Slovenia and Florida.   Her family describes her as an independent, hard-working and witty spitfire with a wonderful sense of humor.  Above all, she was deeply devoted to her family and faith, and loved her pets.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mildred to St. Mary’s Church. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption, 15519 Holmes Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Mildred at THE CHURCH SATURDAY MORNING 9-10 AM.
