MICHAEL R. VARCELLI, Sr., age 94; beloved husband for 62 years of the late Arlene (nee Tabasso); loving father of Michele Zychowski (husband Jim), Michael R. Jr. (wife Kathy), Joseph, Sr. (wife Linda), Roseann, Harry, and Anthony, Sr. (wife Donna); devoted grandfather of Michele, Michael, Jamie and Roseann, Christine and Audrey, Joe, Jonathan, Jessica, and Joshua, Ashley, Alicia, and Matthew, Olivia, Anthony, Nichole, and Michael III, and great-grandfather of 20+; dear son of the late Rose (nee Chavate) and Leonard; dearest brother of June Lentz and the following, all deceased: Ross, Tony, and Joseph Varcelli, Viola Stevens, and Connie Marano; dearest uncle and great-uncle of many.

Michael was born September 16, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on May 22, 2021. He so looked forward to rejoining his adored wife, Arlene, who died in 2010. Michael and Arlene were long-time parishioners at St. Clare Catholic Church and active in the Renewal and Pre-Cana programs. He was a graduate of South High School and was retired owner/operator of Varcelli Trucking. Mike was recently living in Concord Township after spending many years in Mayfield Heights and Lyndhurst. He loved baking, playing cards, travels to Florida, and was a long-time Cleveland Indians fan. He most especially enjoyed time spent with his family. He is remembered for sausage and pepper sandwiches, homemade zucchini bread, his sense of humor and his many inventions. He was an avid user of duct tape and vice strips.

He will be dearly missed by all his friends and family, yet they are comforted knowing he and Arlene are together again.

Prayers of Christian Burial Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the Funeral Home at 11:00 AM. Burial following in All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Mike at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) TUESDAY 3-8 PM.
