MICHAEL P. D’ALESSANDRO age 87, beloved husband for 68 years of Jacqueline (nee Fasciano); loving father of Gary (wife Carol), Lynn Kostura (husband Gary), Robert (wife Annie), James (wife Christine), Mary Anne Matcham (husband Ron), Michael (wife Jamie) and John; devoted grandfather of 14 and great-grandfather of 5; cherished son of the late Michele and Maria Rosa (nee Trivisonno); dearest brother of the late Vincent (wife Florence, deceased), John (wife Mary, deceased) and Anthony; dear brother in law, uncle and great-uncle of many.

Mike was born on June 29, 1931 and passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 11, 2018. He and his wife Jackie raised their family in Cleveland Heights and then moved to Lyndhurst where they lived for 42 years. They later moved to Twinsburg. Mike was a member of St Clare for many years and recently joined Ss Cosmas and Damian Church. He managed several years of Tris Speaker youth baseball teams in Cleveland Heights, sharing his baseball knowledge and guidance with many young athletes. He was a proud member of the Ripa Club, the Malahini Club and the Amici Club. Mike graduated in 1949 from Cleveland Heights High School. He worked hard as an Auditor of the Probate Court in Cuyahoga County. Mike won the Franklin A Polk Servants Merit Award given by the Cuyahoga County Bar Foundation. He loved the Plain Dealer crossword puzzles and watching the Indians, Cavs and Browns. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and traveling to Hawaii. Mike and Jackie were true snowbirds down in Florida. He loved to go to lunch, especially to one of his favorite restaurants, Yours Truly. Mike was a true jokester with a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious smile. He was very patient with a giving heart and cared about everyone. Mike was truly devoted to his family and was extremely proud of his kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his Italian heritage, keeping the old traditions alive by teaching the new generations how to grow figs and make Italian sausage. He had a very strong faith. Mike will be remembered most as generous, caring and always had a smile on his face. He will be forever missed.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Mike to Hospice of the Western Reserve 17876 St Clair Ave, Cleveland, OH 44110 or to The American Cancer Society 10501 Euclid Ave, Cleveland, OH 44106 Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 10 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Mike at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) MONDAY 2-4 & 5-8 PM.
