Born on October 16, 1956, and passed away on October 21, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. He was born to parents, the late Janet and Edward Felver in New York, and spent most of his childhood and early adulthood in Potomac, Maryland. He is survived by his partner Richard Little, sisters Teresa Northrop and Rosemary Bolino, nephews Kristian and Matthew Bolino, and close friend, Alyson Winick. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Gerard Victor Felver.
Michael graduated Magna Cum Laude from Duke University, then worked as a Research Fellow and chemist for the National Institutes of Health where he published numerous research articles. He then earned his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He joined the Cleveland Clinic in 1988 as a medical resident. Doctor Felver was an internist in the Department of Internal Medicine and served the Clinic in multiple capacities, including as a founding Director for the Connected Care Program, Medical Director for the Center for Rehabilitation, and Medical Director for numerous nursing facilities.
Dr. Felver was also a member of the American College of Physicians, the Society for General Internal Medicine, the American Geriatrics Society, and the American Medical Doctors Association. He also served as Education Committee Chair and Treasurer for the Ohio Medical Directors Association, and was the Advisory Board Chair for the Council for International Programs. He was a well-recognized educator to medical residents and a mentor for the Science Internship Program and the Lerner College of Medicine. He also served as the internist for numerous international dignitaries.
Michael has a passion for classical music and would often accompany the Cleveland Orchestra as their physician to international engagements. He was an accomplished pianist and a gourmet chef that thoroughly enjoyed preparing outstanding meals for friends.
Relatives, friends and colleagues are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, in the Wade Chapel of Lake View Cemetery at 1:30 PM. Interment following in Lake View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Dr. Felver suggested to The Cleveland Orchestra.
