Michael A. Petrello

MICHAEL A. PETRELLO age 92. Beloved husband of the late Eleanor J. (nee DeMarco). Loving father of Susan J. Bartlett (husband Wayne), Michael J. (wife Carole) and Raymond A. Devoted grandfather of Angela and Scott Bartlett, Nick and Michelle Petrello. Dearest son of the late Joseph and Mary (nee Luciano). Dear brother of the late Tony, Frank, Nick, Louis “Skippy”, Frances Gambatese, Philomena Giallanza, and Rose. Dear uncle and great uncle of many.

Michael was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran serving under General Patton and awarded the Purple Heart for injuries received near Metz, France. A resident of Mayfield since 1960, he was a member of St. Clare Church and the Knights of Columbus and worked as a machinist in die casting. Michael was constantly a gentleman and never had anything unkind to say about anyone. Always well dressed, he was an avid golfer through 1980, winning an Amateur Trophy in 1955.

Prayers of Christian Burial Friday, April 12, 2013 at 11 AM the funeral home. Entombment following at Knollwood Mausoleum. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Michael at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) THURSDAY 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
