MERCEDES A. NEMEC (nee Zagorc) age 87, beloved wife of the late Aloysius J.; loving mother of Richard, MD., (wife Kimberly), Christine Narusch (husband Mark), Bernadette Barnette, Mark (wife Talesa), David, Karen, Brian (wife Loida), and Paul (wife Heather); devoted grandmother of Elyse Haines (husband Jonathan), Zachary Nemec (wife Missy), Jaymes Nemec, Amanda Turner (husband Travis), Shawn and Michael Barnette, Shelby, Abigail, Jack, Connie, Stephanie, Bryan, Joseph, Jeremy, Justin, Brianna, and Alexander Nemec, Sara dela Vega, and great-grandmother of Zoe; cherished daughter of the late Martin and Frances (nee Vidmar) Zagorc; dearest sister of Rev. Francis Zagorc CSC, Clare Bazzichi (husband Joseph), Thomas Zagorc (wife Ann), Dennis Zagorc (wife Susan) and the late Martin Zagorc (wife Shirley, deceased), Edward Zagorc (wife Anna, deceased), Therese Young (husband Robert, deceased), Sister Mary, OSU, Bernadette, and Marian Zagorc; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Mercedes was born April 3, 1930 and died July 5, 2017. She was a 50-year resident of Highland Heights, previously of Willowick and Collinwood. She was a 20-year parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church in Cleveland. She graduated from Villa Angela High School in 1948 and attended St. Johns College. She was a homemaker and teacher for the Catholic Schools. Mercedes was happily married to Aloysius for 50 years. She loved family and playing cards, and listening to classical, polka and 70s classic rock music. Mercedes received the most enjoyment in life from being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was kind, considerate, obliging, accommodating, generous, outgoing and funny. Mercedes will be dearly missed.

Contributions may be made in memory of Mercedes to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 15519 Homes Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Relatives and friends are invited to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Monday, July 10, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 10AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery.
