Funeral services for Maxine L. (Orth) Ticknor, 81, of Kirtland, will be held on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM, at Kirtland Christian Fellowship Church, 10001 Chillicothe Rd., Kirtland, Ohio. Mrs. Ticknor died in her sleep Friday morning at Mentor Way, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimers.
She was born on Sept. 28, 1931 in Harden County, Ohio. She was a 47 year resident of Kirtland, enjoyed gardening, and was a member of the Broken Wheel Squares, a square dancing club. She retired in 1991 from the City of Willoughby, where she worked for the Willoughby “?? Eastlake Water Pollution Control Center.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Grant W., her children Marilyn (James) Faught, Vernon (Mary Jane) and David (Doris), grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Dorothy Johnston, Kenneth, Nelson, Harold, Guy and Dean Orth.
She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen, her parents Robert and Irene (Rodgers) Orth, and a brother Maurice Orth.
The family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Maxine on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at The DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home, 28890 Chardon Rd., Willoughby Hills (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91). Pastor Tim French will officiate. Burial will follow in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens. Contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44110.
