MATTHEW W. GOODLIN, SR., age 75 was born on March 7, 1940 in Brenizer, Pennsylvania to the late Clyde William and Anna Catherine (nee Ihli) Goodlin and passed away on February 3, 2016. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Ellen (nee Senovich); loving father of Margaret Goodlin-Casey (husband James), Marie Ferris (husband Timothy), and Matthew W. Jr. (wife Natalie); devoted grandfather of William, Summer, and Kenneth (Heather) Spakes, Brooke Ferris, Caleb and Hannah Ludwick, the late LCPL Eric Paul Ludwick, Jr., USMC, and great-grandfather of Austin, Kayla, Caleb, and soon to be born in April Baby Boy Kenneth; dearest brother of Joanne Wigfield (husband Wade, deceased), William (wife Lynn), John (wife Karen), and Thomas (wife Linda), fond son-in-law of the late Miller and Anna (nee Elnyczky) Senovich; dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend of many. U.S. Army Veteran.

Matthew was a resident of Chardon since 1990 formerly of Mentor on the Lake.  Matthew loved the Steelers, camping, traveling to Florida and flea markets. His grandkids gave Matthew the most enjoyment in life. Matthew will be remembered by his family and friends as loving, kind, honest, funny, silly and family oriented. He will be greatly missed.

Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 1 PM at THE DeJohn Funeral Home & Crematory of Chardon (formerly Ritondaro) 126 South St. (Rt. 44, south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square). Burial following with Military Honors in All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Matthew at THE FUNERAL HOME on MONDAY 4-8 PM.
