MATTHEW E. “MIKE” MORAWSKI, 95 years, beloved husband of the late Jane (nee Kowalski), dear father of Elaine Thompson (Richard – deceased), Nancy Halmagy (David) and John (Pauline), loving grandfather of Carrie (Troy), Nicholas (Erin), Jason (Lee), Alex, Erica, Mary Beth and the late Gregory, great-grandfather of 8, cherished brother of Arlene Cantu (Robert) and the following deceased: Ann Hodakievic (Lou), Irene D’Onle (Louie) and Mary Oblocki (Edward), fond uncle to many.

Mike passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Born Jan. 11, 1924 in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Lyndhurst for 63 years. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served during World War II on the European and Pacific fronts and was awarded two bronze stars.

Mike retired from Labuda Machine as the machinist foreman after 35 years. He loved sports, especially football, Ohio State and the Rose Bowl. He enjoyed   working in the backyard, tending to a large variety of fruit trees. He will be deeply missed by the family that loved him so much.

Relatives and friends are requested to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 at St. Clare Catholic Church, 5659 Mayfield Rd., Lyndhurst, at 9:30 AM., followed by military honors. Interment All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Mike at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) FRIDAY 4-8 PM.
