Mathew A. Lapuma, Sr.

Mass of Christian Burial for Mathew LaPuma, 88, of Wickliffe, will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 29840 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Mr. LaPuma died Tuesday at Golden Living Center in Kirtland surrounded by his family.

Mr. LaPuma was born on May 7, 1924 in Cleveland. He was a 60-year resident of Wickliffe, previously residing in Cleveland. He worked many years as a Baker at Fisher Fazio. Matt enjoyed golf, bowling, feeding neighborhood dogs, playing cards, eating with his family and most importantly spending time with his family. He is described as cheerful, outgoing, sociable with a great sense of humor.

Matt is survived by his wife of 65 years Ellen (nee Teresi) grandchildren Matthew A. III, Nicholas and David; brother Frank; daughter-in-law Michelle (nee Pratt); he was the uncle and great-uncle of many. Mr. LaPuma was preceded in death by his son Mathew A. Jr.; parents Thomas and Frances; and brother Salvatore.

The family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Matt on Thursday from 4-8 PM at The DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Rd. (between Bishop and Rt. 91.) Burial will follow the Mass in All Souls Cemetery.
