Mary Simone Boslett

Mary Simone Boslett (nee Solomon) 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on January 4, 2018. She was born in Patton, Pennsylvania December 14, 1936 to the late Simon Solomon and Mary Swerbinsky (nee Baumann). She attended Cambria High School and married her husband Robert. J. Boslett on May 14, 1955. They lived in Patton, PA with their three children until moving to Chardon, Ohio in 1963. While raising her family, Simone worked for SnapOut Forms Company while attending Willoughby- Eastlake School of Nursing. After receiving her nursing certification, Simone worked for Geauga Community Hospital in Chardon and the Western Reserve Nursing Home in Kirtland, where she found her love for taking care of Alzheimer’s patients. In 1982 she moved to Marion Indiana due to her husband’s job transfer. In 1989 her husband retired and they moved to Kingman, Arizona where Simone continued to work as an Alzheimer’s nurse. She worked up until a few years ago.

Simone loved her home, the sun, the warm climate and all her loving and loyal friends in Arizona. In her free time, Simone was an avid Bingo player, reader and loved to complete word puzzles. In her seventies, Simone went white water rafting, snorkeling, parasailing and road all of the roller coasters at CedarPoint in the first car. At the age of seventy-five she went sky diving with her grandson Bobby. Her family described her as a feisty, stubborn, 4’ 10” determined woman who had a heart of gold. That warm and smiling face will be greatly missed by all.

Simone is survived by her children Robert J. Jr. “Rob” Boslett (companion Rachel) Michael S. Boslett, and Lori J. DeJohn (husband Robert); grandchildren Melissa Luelling (husband Aaron), Robert J. Boslett, III, Russell Boslett ( wife Anna), Randall Boslett, Teresa DeJohn and Bobby DeJohn; great-grandchildren Ariana Luelling, Chaela Luelling, Russell Boslett “RJ”, Alexis Boslett and Adella Boslett; brother Raymond “Sonny” Solomon (wife Barbara deceased); and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Simone’s dedicated and compassionate caregivers, MaryJane, Leslie , Darcia and Sue from Hospice of the Western Reserve; Eileen, Ellie and Hollie from Home Instead, along with many other caregivers who Simone became attached to. They assisted and supported not only Simone but the family on this difficult journey. Their love will not be forgotten.

Simone is preceded in death by her husband Robert J. who died March 20, 2002; and her sister Imogene Bowers (husband Albert).

Celebration of Life Service SATURDAY January 13, 2018 at 1 PM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial Private at All Souls Cemetery. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Simone at the THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SATURDAY 11 AM -1 PM.
