Mary “Mimi” Kozina

MARY “MIMI” KOZINA (nee Sef) age 82, beloved wife for 58 years of the late John; loving mother of Mary Cupar  and John (wife Mary); devoted grandmother of Caroline, Evan and Catharine; cherished daughter of the late Marija  (nee Ornik) and Alojz Sef; dearest sister of Slavica Brdar (husband Ivan) and Louis Sef (wife Heather); dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Mary was born in Maribor Slovenia on July 29^th, 1940 and died peacefully on December 30, 2022. Mary came to the United States in 1956 and lived in Cleveland until 1967.  She has resided in Richmond Heights for the last 55 years.

Mary was a member of St. Vitus and St. John of the Cross Catholic Churches. She also belonged to Pristava and  the Stajerski Prekmurski Klub. She attended high school in Slovenia and dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker.

Mary loved cooking and the theater. She was reserved, kind and generous.  Mary was devoted to her faith and her family. Mary was always there for those she loved, especially her children and grandchildren.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mimi to St. Mary Catholic Church 15519 Holmes Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at St. Mary Catholic Church (Holmes Ave.)  at 10 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Mary at THE ZEVNIK-COSIC FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) TUESDAY 4-8 PM.
