Mary Maslar

MARY E. MASLAR (nee Mezzopera) age 93, beloved wife for 54 years of the late John L.; loving mother of Joyce Shafer (Donald) and John A. (Donna); devoted grandmother of Jodi Nead (Mark), David Shafer (Susie), Kerri Dalton (Rich), Alex Maslar, and great-grandmother of 8; daughter of the late John and Premetta (nee Guerci) Mezzopera; sister of Rena DeAngelo (Pat, deceased), Louis Mezzopera (Antoinette), Virginia Voll (Winfred, deceased) and the late Armand Mezzopera; aunt and great-aunt of many.

Mary was born on July 4, 1922 in Coalport, PA and passed away January 14, 2016 in Willoughby where she has lived for the past 15 years. She was a member of St. Noel Catholic Church. Mary previously resided in Lyndhurst and attended St. Clare Catholic Church. She worked as an administrative assistant for Case Western Reserve University. Mary enjoyed sewing and cooking and was an avid reader, but got the most enjoyment in life from her family. She will be remembered as a good homemaker who was “all about family” and for her friendly, easy-going, loving, caring and devoted nature.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, January 18, 2016 at St. Noel Catholic Church at 10 AM. Burial following at Knollwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SUNDAY 2-6 PM.
