MARY A. LABODA (nee Seaman) age 91, beloved wife of the late Thomas; loving mother of Karen (Mike Clemens), Jennifer and the late Leslie; devoted grandmother of Cassandra Vasko, Zee Molter, Sabrina Walczak (husband Josh), Jacquelynne Foote (husband Ray) and the late Brandon Molter and great-grandmother of Holden Walczak; cherished daughter of the late Steve and Anna (nee Fador) Seaman; dearest sister of the late Margaret Michl (husband Frank, dec.), Andrew (wife Helen, dec.), Joseph (wife Lil, dec.), Steve (wife Edith, dec.), Rosa Kovalak (husband Samuel, dec.) and John Seaman (wife MaryAnn); treasured sister-in-law of Mary Ann Seaman; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.
Mary was born May 11, 1933 in Rocky Hollow, West Virginia and passed away on July 5, 2024. She was a 1951 graduate of John Adams High School. As a young woman, Mary vacationed in Daytona Beach with her best friend, Dorothy Dusek, and, as luck would have it, she met the love of her life, Thomas LaBoda. After their courtship and marriage, Mary pursued being a homemaker with great enthusiasm. She became an excellent cook who was always looking for the next delicious recipe, and tended to her garden with a green thumb. She delighted in being a mother, raising her daughters and sewing most of their clothes. When the children were older, Mary used her exceptional people skills to work as a sales clerk for Sears and receptionist at Imperial Wall Coverings. Later, the ambitious husband and wife team of Tom and Mary started their own business, Tech Marketing, which they sold in 1999 after Tom’s passing. Mary always claimed the best part of that business was running the tow motor! With the loss of this very kind and loving soul, the family will forever miss her caring touch and warm smile.
